A Time-Domain Analytic Solution of Flow-Induced Undular Bores

In this study, the problem of surface waves induced by water flow in a channel was investigated. The mathematical model based on potential wave theory established, and new analytic solution to corresponding initial boundary value proposed. To confirm our solution, applied simulate experiments conducted laboratory. Using elevations velocities at certain locations were compared with experimental results. Comparisons between results confirmed that amplitudes propagating phases are very close agreement. Our can be used calculate variations pressure velocity along depth, which expensive calibrate obtain experiments. Although established linear theory, it is practical for applications studying basic properties elevation, velocity, field current both space time.
